Artist's Comments
This is for an Advanced Figure Drawing class for Illustrators, so if anybody says that this isn't an illustration, they're gonna die.
Assignment was to research an animal, and organic object, and the human form and merge them together.
For me, I'm just tired of always just doing what the teacher wants; I'm sick of always pleasing others and not trying to please myself. For me, this assignment filled MY wants, like giving my mushroom octopus glasses, a white mustache and floating eyebrows in a vague landscape.
I got a B on this and I don't care. I'm happy for once.
(I do apologize for the horrible photo quality. I do not have a nice camera. I did my best.
This is a full acrylic painting, 20x16 inches. You can also flip the image to where the octopus is crawling in a different direction. He looks cool no matter how I display him.
(I imagine that if Disney's Merlin HAD to transform into a mushroom octopus, he would look just like this one. Hence, this is Merlin.)
